Kenneth N. & Beverly Miles

December 22, 2013  &  January 31, 2014

Kenneth N. Miles, husband of Beverly Hersey Miles, and long-term resident of Pleasanton, CA, passed away on December 22, 2013, attended by his eldest son, Kenneth E. Miles at Parkview Extended Care in Pleasanton. He was 90.  Beverly passed away at home on January 31, 2014, at the age of 87, surrounded by all three of her children.

They were natives of Southern California, where they met in 1943. They married on July 11, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Prior to moving to Pleasanton in 1968, they lived in avariety of places courtesy of the US Nave where Ken served for 24 years as a Naval Aviator. Newport, RI, Pensacola, FL, and Ewa Beach, HI were all home to the growing family.

After retiring from the Navy in 1966, Ken served as an airline pilot for World Airways until 1983. Beverly excelled in her chosen role as wife, mother and grandmother. She especially loved sewing, knitting, gardening, and Bible study. What endeared them most to their family were the life lessons they taught and exemplified; fidelity, thankfulness, and gratitude to name a few.

They are survived by Beverly’s sister, Fleurette Hay of Palm Desert, CA, their children, Kenneth E. Miles of Camas, WA, Judy Miles of Claremont, CA, Ronald N. Miles of Newark Valley, NY, gwo daughters-in-law, eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside Memorial Service is planned for 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 15 at Lova Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton, CA.

Lending your support to the International Mouth and Foot Painting Artists Association (www.mfpausa.com) would be a fitting way to honor their memory.
